Dear Class of 2020,

Congratulations! You did it! High school is over! Coming from someone who genuinely enjoyed their high school experience, I had mixed feelings about graduating. I was so excited for the next chapter of my life but also terrified at moving on from everything I knew. But it’s different for you guys, it was cut short. What’s considered the most rewarding part of your high school career was taken away from you by something you have no control over. I am so sorry. It’s a swirl of emotions, and it stinks. It’s ok to be upset. There is one thing I do know, it all happens for a reason. You were put in a time such as this for a purpose! This is just one moment and season of many in your lifetime. Your joy isn’t determined by your circumstances! Keep your eyes and thoughts on things above. Your next step is still going to be there, virus or not. Have faith and trust the process. God’s ways and plans are so much higher and greater than we can comprehend. There is a light.

Sincerely,

Taylor Barnes
