Dear Class of 2020,

Congratulations! You’ve made it! Twelve years of hard work and now it’s finally time for graduation. I know your senior year has not gone exactly as planned, but we don’t need to let such things concern us. The Lord tells us in Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Even in these uncertain times, we can rest assured knowing that the Lord has a plan for our lives and that His plan is good.

Since leaving high school I have learned that there is a very different life waiting for us all outside the walls of PCA, and that’s a good thing. Entering college, the military, or the workforce allows us to grow in new ways. Your whole life is ahead of you, and you need not fear it. Embrace it! Most importantly, remember to spend time with God. Life gets distracting at times, and it can be confusing, especially when everything is new and different. Let God be your rock. If you continue to focus on the Lord, you will not lose your way.

Love God and love your neighbors as yourself (Mark 12:30-31). That is all I can tell you. I don’t know where you are going, but if you focus on those things, I have no doubt that the Class of 2020 will do great things. Good luck on all your future endeavors, and God bless you all.

Sincerely,

Amber Gay
