As students move into adolescence, most struggle to understand who they are and where they’re headed. Their understanding of God and their personal relationship with Him becomes more critical during this time. PCA’s faculty and staff present classroom lessons from a Christian worldview to help students see the relevance of faith in all areas of life. The Bible is taught as a core subject each day, and Chapel addresses critical topics for middle school students.

Students in grades 6-7 accept increasing amounts of responsibility and independence in an academically-challenging environment and are prepared for upper school with lessons in study, organization, and research skills. Students and teachers work together in a climate of respect and collaborative learning. Middle school students move from class to class each day and are guided and mentored by subject specialists. PCA maintains a learning community where creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration is emphasized. Students are encouraged to explore their interests through a wide variety of courses in both academics and fine arts. PCA’s middle school also provides numerous opportunities for students in missions and service. Middle school faculty members work with students to help determine individual learning styles and encourage students to take risks and become an active participant in their education.

Classes in Spanish, music, and art enrich the core learning experience. Structured physical education classes and unstructured recesses serve to develop physical agility and strength while promoting fun.
