Biography

Alison Deason teaches fifth grade Math, Science, and Bible. She loves working at PCA because it feels like a great big family. Everyone takes care of each other and God’s word is incorporated into everything.

Mrs. Deason received her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood/Elementary Education from the University of Montevallo and a Master’s in Elementary Education from the University of West Alabama. She is married to Mark and they have three sons, Reid, Parker and Trevor. She attends Coosada Baptist Church.

Amy Hightower

Biography

Amy Hightower teaches first grade. She most enjoys the family atmosphere at PCA.

Mrs. Hightower earned a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Auburn Montgomery. She is married to Charles Hightower and they have three children, Charles, Katelynn and Brandon. She attends Landmark Church of Christ.

Amy Newsom teaches third grade Math, Science, Social Studies and Bible. She loves that the leadership at PCA puts Christ at the forefront in every thing that they do everyday.

Ms. Newsom received a B.S. in Elementary Education from Faulkner and a Master’s degree from Auburn Montgomery. She has two children, Micah and Chase. They attend Hunter Hills Church where she previously served as the Children’s Minister.

Angela Bryant

Biography

Angela Bryant teaches fifth grade History, Language Arts, and Bible. She enjoys PCA because of the extended family atmosphere.

Mrs. Bryant earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Ohio University. She is married to David and they have one daughter, Lindsay. She attends The Holy Spirit Church in Montgomery and volunteers wth the Montgomery Zoo.

Baron Goins
Spiritual Director


Biography

Baron Goins serves as PCA’s Spiritual Director. His responsibilities include spiritual advisor for students, overseeing the school’s Bible departments, as well as coordinating chapels, mission trips, and other activities. He also teaches high school Bible and Chapel Practicum as well as coaches football. He most enjoys the opportunity to come to work and engage students about their walk with Christ.

Mr. Goins received of Bachelors of Art in Sociology from University of South Alabama and a youth ministry degree from Capstone School of Ministry. He is married to Laura Goins and they have three children, Natalie, Tyson, and Joanna. He attends church and enjoys volunteering at Vaughn Park Church of Christ.

Charlotte Rouse
Preschool Teacher


Biography

Charlotte Rouse teaches Kindergarten. She enjoys working at PCA because the authority of God’s Word is honored and understood. She likes the opportunity of being able to weave God’s Word throughout the fabric of each day. She also feels that it is a joy to work with such a fine Christian staff as the PCA family.

Mrs. Rouse graduated with honors from Auburn Montgomery with a degree in Early Childhood Elementary and Reading Education. She is married to Wayne Rouse and they have two children, Michelle and Matthew and five grandchildren. She is a member of the Church of God and travels with her minister husband. She enjoys Bible teaching and working in women’s ministry.

Chris Puckett
Middle School & Junior High P.E. Coach


Biography

Chris Puckett serves as PCA’s Strength and Conditioning Coach in addition to teaching Middle School and Junior High P.E. classes and Varsity Athletics. He also coaches baseball and football. He enjoys the atmosphere at PCA – a place to mentor and mold students and athletes in a Christian environment.

Coach Puckett earned an associates degree in Transportation Management from the Community College of Air Force and a Bachelor of Science in Sports and Health Science from American Military University. He’s currently pursuing a Master of Science in Sports Science from American Military University. He is married to Kerry and they have two children, Micah and Campbell. He attends Coosada Baptist Church. Outside of school, Coach Puckett and his family manage a special needs summer camp in Prattville and spend time helping the adaptive sports and field of dreams programs at the YMCA.

David Dean
High School Teacher


Biography

David Dean teaches all courses in PCA’s Engineering Academy. He most enjoys the students.

Mr. Dean earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and holds PLTW certifications for all his engineering courses. He is married to another PCA staff member, Patricia Dean and they have two children, Colin and Zachary. He attends Frazer United Methodist Church.

Diane Shirah
Elementary Teacher


Biography

Diane Shirah teaches fifth grade Science and Language Arts. She loves the welcoming environment among the faculty, staff and students at PCA.

Mrs. Shirah received a Bachelor of Arts in English from Auburn University at Montgomery. In addition to her middle school certifications, she also holds a certification in Special Education, EC-12. She is married to Michael Shirah and they have two children, Connor and Logan. They attend both St. Joseph Catholic Church and Journey Church.

Ed Lovvorn
High School Teacher


Biography

Ed Lovvorn teaches Algebra II and Analytical Math. Outside of the classroom, he serves as an assistant football and wrestling coach. His family was drawn to PCA for the opportunity to work in a Christian environment.

Mr. Lovvorn earned a BS Ed in Health and Physical Education and minor in Math Education from Georgia Southwestern State. In addition, he received a M Ed in Administration and Supervision from Georgia College and State University. He is married to Lisa and they have two adult children, John and Rob. As new residents of the Prattville area, he is still searching for a church home.

Emily-Anne McCaskey teaches K4. She most enjoys the Christian atmosphere at PCA.

Mrs. McCaskey received her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. She is married to Sam McCaskey and they two children: Banks and Tyler-Anne. She attends Centerpoint Church.

Erin Bowman

Erin Bowman teaches middle school Bible and Spanish. She loves the administration and their dedication to serving the Lord and how everyone is always so willing to help.  She also loves the students’ authenticity and motivation to do well in all areas of their lives!

Mrs. Bowman received her Bachelor of Arts in English and Spanish and a Master’s in Education from Harding University. She is married to Randy Bowman and they have four children who attend PCA: Mihaela, Noah, Lannom and Jorja. They attend Centerpoint Church. Mrs. Bowman also volunteers with the Autauga Interfaith Care Center.

Erin Copeland serves as a Kindergarten teacher. She loves working with her sincere and loving co-workers at PCA.

Mrs. Copeland received a BA and M.ED. from Harding University. She is married to Nathan Copeland and they have four children, Kate, Colin, William and Grant. She attends Hunter Hills Church of Christ.

Gennie Honel
Elementary P.E. Teacher


Biography

Gennie Honel teaches elementary P.E. and helps coach softball, JV and varsity volleyball. She was drawn to PCA because of the great things she heard in the community about the school, especially the family atmosphere.

Coach Honel earned an associate’s degree from Southern Union State Community College and a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Faulkner University. She attends Eastmont Baptist Church where she volunteers with VBS and the nursery.

Jacob Guillory teaches World History and coaches football. He enjoys the student-centered discussion based instruction that connects history with everyday life and the opportunity to coach and teach in a christian environment.

Coach Guillory received a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from Troy University.

James Shirley

James Shirley teaches Physics, Precalculus, AP Calculus, and Algebra II. He enjoys working in the Christian environment and with the excellent staff at PCA.

Mr. Shirley received a B.S. in Physical Science from Auburn University Montgomery. He is married to Loren Shirley and they attend Morningview Baptist Church where he serves as a deacon and teaches a children’s Sunday School class.

Jason Furr

Jason Furr serves as a junior high Bible and personal finance teacher as well as an assistant wrestling coach. He most enjoys the family atmosphere at PCA.

Coach Furr received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Troy University and a Liberty University Graduate Certificate in Biblical Studies. He is married to Katie Furr and they have one daughter, Shelby. They attend Landmark Church where he serves with the men’s ministry, security team and as the Deacon of Serving Others Ministry.

Jason Roberson teaches Bible and serves as the head coach for both varsity basketball teams as well as the administrator for PCA’s soccer program. He enjoys the people and strong Christian atmosphere.

Mr. Roberson received a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Faulkner University. He is married to Lori Roberson and they have three children, Malia, Carson and Brady. He attends Centerpoint Fellowship Church.

Jeffery Bergdolt

Jeffery Bergdolt teaches high school science. He loves that he gets to help students reach both their academic and spiritual potential while teaching at PCA.

Biography

Jerry Greene teaches high school english and history. He’s also the head baseball coach. He loves the unity among leaders, staff and faculty at PCA directed to the spiritual growth of the students. Coach Greene is married to Monica and they have one daughter, Peri.

Jessica Ghames

Biography

Jessica Ghames teaches middle school Math. Outside of the classroom, Miss Ghames coaches PCA’s Color Guard. She loves PCA because you feel like family when you walk in the doors.

Miss Ghames graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Auburn University Montgomery and will be returning to school at Liberty University for a masters in the fall. She attends Centerpoint Fellowship Church.

John Fussell

John Fussell teaches ninth grade Bible and serves as the Head Football Coach. He enjoys the Christ-centered approach at PCA and the servant attitudes of fellow faculty and staff members.

Coach Fussell earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminology with a double minor in Political Science from Auburn University and a graduate degree in Secondary Educational Social Sciences from Auburn Montgomery. He is married to Virginia Fussell and they have four children, Lauren, Luke, Courtney, and Carolina.

Kadi Newcomb

Kadi Newcomb teaches K4 and coaches Track and Field. She is a 2014 PCA graduate and came back to teach at her alma mater because she loves the caring environment.

Kathy Moore

Biography

Kathy Moore is a collaborative teacher in PCA’s preschool program. She believes that it’s a blessing each day to come to God’s school where the Holy Spirit is so present in every way, everyday; beginning with faculty prayer in the morning. She loves that we truly love one another and the students and the faculty are the hands and feet of Jesus in this fallen world.

Mrs. Moore earned a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and is nationally certified in Elementary Education. She is married to Ricky Moore and they have three children, Melissa, Will and Molly. She is also the proud grandmother to Alex. She attends Coosada Baptist Church where she teachers Kindergarten Sunday School and Children’s Worship. She also volunteers at Common Ground as a tutor.

Kaylon Cantrell

Kaylon Cantrell teaches junior high math and serves as the head volleyball coach. She loves the Christian atmosphere and the sense of family among co-workers. “When I’m at school, whether teaching or coaching, I don’t feel like I’m at work because I love what I do, and enjoy the people that are here with me.”

Miss Cantrell received her Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics Education from Faulkner University. She attends Centerpoint Fellowship Church and enjoys coaching volleyball clinics and camps at the YMCA.

Ken Lantz
Music Teacher / Band Director


Biography

Ken Lantz serves as the Director of the High School Band, Beginner Band, Intermediate Band, Choir/Bible and teaches Music Appreciation. In addition to his classroom duties, he also serves as the cross country coach. He most enjoys being a part of a school that daily puts God first and he feels honored to work alongside committed Christian teachers and administrators.

Mr. Lantz received his undergraduate Music Education degree from Texas Tech University and recently earned two master’s degrees from York College in Organizational Leadership and Curriculum/Instruction. He is married to Renee Lantz and they have four children, Katherine, Connor, Natalie and Anna. He attends Centerpoint Fellowship Church where he serves on the Tech Team.

Kenneth Childree

Kimberly Simpson
High School Teacher


Biography

Kimberly Simpson teaches life science in grades 9-12. Her classes include Biology, Honors Biology, Honors Anatomy and Physiology, and AP Environmental Science. She most enjoys the family atmosphere at PCA. In addition to teaching, she is PCA’s Varsity Cheerleading Head Coach.

Mrs. Simpson received both a Bachelor of Science and a Master’s of Education from the University of North Alabama. She is married to Josh Simpson and they have three children, Marlee Grace, Makenna and Tillman. She attends Coosada Baptist Church.

Kristen Emerson teaches second grade. Outside of the classroom, she assist in coaching varsity girls basketball and soccer. She enjoys working in an environment where she is able to share her faith and is encouraged to grow closer to Christ.

LaTarial Williams

LaTarial Williams is a Physical Education Teacher and basketball coach for PCA. She enjoys that everyone is one family and has one goal – to teach our students to mature spiritually and encourage high academic standards.

Coach Williams received an Associate of Physical Education from Snead State Community College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management from Huntingdon College. She is a member of Landmark Church.

Marcy Gore serves as an Orton-Gillingham certified tutor in PCA’s Resource Center. What she loves most about PCA are the people! PCA is not only a great school for students, but a great place to work. She is thankful for and love her PCA family.

Mrs. Gore earned her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. She is married to Mike Gore and they have two daughters, Emily and Clara. She attends Church of the Highlands.

Marsha Blankinchip

Marsha Blankinchip serves as a first grade teacher at PCA. She most enjoys how PCA is intentional about teaching students how to have a servant’s heart and giving God all the glory while serving others.

Mrs. Blankinchip earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. She is married to Chad Blankinchip and they have two daughters, Abby and Ally. They attend Centerpoint Fellowship Church. 

Mary Greer

Mary Greer serves as PCA’s Tanglewood Coffee House Manager. In addition to serving coffee, her duties include connecting with students through mentoring, Bible study and small group activities. She also teaches sixth grade Bible. She loves being part of a Christian team that is focused on preparing future leaders.

Miss Greer received her Bachelor’s degree from Harding University and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Alabama. Mary is a Licensed Master Social Worker. She attends Hunter Hills Church where she serves as the fifth and sixth grade ministry leader and leads the Ennegram personality class for adults.

MaryCeleste Mendoza teaches sixth and seventh grade Science and co-teaches Science Olympiad. She really enjoys how helpful and friendly everyone is; how very willing to take time out of their day to make sure that they can help you in some way.

Nancy Rambo teaches Kindergarten. She loves the great Christian atmosphere with wonderful co-workers. She enjoys working with students and seeing the little light blubs turn on and being able to relate all that we do to God’s word.

Mrs. Rambo received her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Auburn University. She is retired from Montgomery Public Schools after 25 years of service. She is married to Steve Rambo and they have two adult children. She attends Vaughn Park Church of Christ.

Natalie Curenton teaches first grade at PCA. She most enjoys the Christian environment on and around campus.

Miss Curenton received an Elementary Education Degree and a Special Education Collaborative from Huntingdon College. She is a member of Eastern Hills Baptist Church.

Randy Stough
High School Teacher


Biography

Randy Stough teaches Driver’s Education, Heath and P.E. He is also the head softball coach. Randy enjoys working with fellow Christians at PCA who are striving to make a spiritual influence in the lives of children.

Mr. Stough received a bachelor’s degree at Troy State University in K-12 P.E. and a certification in Driver’s Education at ASU. He is married to Michelle Stough and they have two children and two grandchildren. He attends Elmore Church of Christ.

Rebekah Pasley
Middle School Teacher


Biography

Rebekah Pasley teaches Middle School English. She studied English as a Second Language at Liberty University, where she later received a Masters in Teaching with certifications in ESL and Secondary English. Rebekah is married to Jeff Pasley and they have two children, Cooper and Nellie.

Mrs. Pasley and her family are members of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church, where she volunteers with the music and children’s ministry. She is excited to be able to incorporate the Bible as a guide in both studies of literature and research projects. PCA is standing out in the community as a Christian school that is pursuing excellence, and Rebekah is honored to be a part of this community.

Renee Lantz
Auxiliary Teacher


Biography

Renee Lantz teaches Spanish as an auxiliary class for grades K3-7 and coaches the Pantherettes – PCA’s Majorette team. She enjoys PCA because of the focus on raising students who love and serve the Lord and others.

Mrs. Lantz earned a bachelor’s degree in General Studies from Texas Tech University. She is married to Ken Lantz and they have four children, Katherine, Connor, Natalie, and Anna. She attends Centerpoint Church where she volunteers in the nursery. Mrs. Lantz is also the founder and director the Alabama Angels Pageant – a pageant for special needs individuals. 

Robert Holt
High School Teacher


Biography

Robert Holt teaches high school math and sponsors the Key Club. He likes the opportunity to teach in an environment that encourages children to grow both academically and spiritually.

Mr. Holt holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with an emphasis in Engineering from Auburn Montgomery. He is married to Kim Holt and they have two children, Bryan and Kendall. He attends Prattville Church of Christ.

Savannah Dockins

Savannah Dockins teaches High School English. She loves the family and Christian atmosphere at PCA. She feels at home and is able to openly glorify God while incorporating His presence through teaching.

Mrs. Dockins received a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary English Education from Faulkner University. She is married to John Logan Dockins and they are the proud parents of Chipper, an Australian Shepard. She attends University Church of Christ.

Shannon Duncan

Shannon Duncan serves as a K3 teacher at PCA. She most enjoys the family atmosphere and is blessed to know that she is surrounded every day by caring and encouraging co-workers.

Mrs. Duncan served as a Substitute Teacher for Autauga County for eleven years and three years as a 21st CCLC Teacher (Century Community Learning Center) Afterschool Program.  She is married to Scott Duncan and they have four children, Tyler, Cam, Tate & Savannah. Stacey Clem

Stacey Clem teaches high school english, American Lit and AP Language and Composition. Her favorite thing about PCA is the family atmosphere. She is excited about sharing her passion for analyzing literature and language from a biblical worldview.

Mrs. Clem received her Bachelor of Science in English and a Master of Science in English Education from Troy University. She also has a Foundation and Frameworks certification. She is married to Ted Clem and they have three children, Annalise, Alaina and Andrew. Mrs. Clem attends Journey Church where she serves on the worship team and as a life group leader at church. Her family enjoys taking mission trips as well.

Stephanie Beers

Stephanie Beers teaches high school english as well as Speech and Debate. She most enjoys the people at PCA. She looks forward to serving with other believers who genuinely desire to impact students in a way the honors God.

Sundee Mahone teaches Art as an auxiliary class for elementary and middle school students. She believes that PCA is an institution of leaning that exemplifies what the culture of a work place and school should be. She’s grateful for the door that God has opened, and looks forward to serving the students and families.

Theresa May serves as one of PCA’s fourth grade teachers.

Mrs. Blackburn received a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She is married to Caleb Blackburn. She attends Coosada Baptist Church.

Biography

Trent Staggs serves as a Personal Finance teacher and Internship Coordinator. He is also the Head Wrestling coach along with being a Varsity Assistant Football Coach and the Head Middle School Football Coach. He most enjoys the ability to teach, coach and work in such a Christian environment that take into account the whole student, parent and educator that comes through the doors of PCA.

Coach Staggs earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Education from the University of Southern Indiana and Master of Science in Athletic Administration from Ohio University.  He is married to Melissa and they have two children, Will and Elijah.

Vanessa Pickart
High School Teacher


Biography

Vanessa Pickart teaches Spanish 1 and 2. She is excited to be working in a Christian environment and sharing her love of God and Spanish with students.

Mrs. Pickart earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from University of Iowa and then later returned to school for a Bachelor of Science from Peru State College in Nebraska. She holds several certifications in elementary education, middle school social studies and language arts as well as being endorsed K-12 in Spanish. She is married to Damien Pickart and they have two children, Caroline and Alejandro. She attends Fountain of Grace Church.

Whitney Sheridan

Biography

Whitney Sheridan teaches second grade and coaches PCA’s junior varsity cheerleading squad. She enjoys being a part of the organization because it is Christ-centered. Every faculty member, student, and family makes it a welcoming and warm place.

Mrs. Sheridan graduated from Troy University.  She is married to Cass Sheridan, and they have two daughters. She attends Centerpoint Fellowship Church.
