The success of Prattville Christian Academy and its students is a direct result of our exceptional talented faculty and staff members. These individuals pour knowledge, life skills and Christ into the student body each day. We are fortunate to call each faculty and staff member a part of the PCA family.

Alison Deason
Elementary School Teacher


Biography

Alison Deason teaches Math, and History for Fifth grade. She loves working at PCA because it feels like a great big family. Everyone takes care of each other and God’s word is incorporated into everything.

Mrs. Deason received her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood/Elementary Education from the University of Montevallo and a Master’s in Elementary Education from the University of West Alabama. She is married to Mark and they have three sons, Reid, Parker and Trevor. She attends Coosada Baptist Church.

Amanda Redman
High School Teacher


Biography

Amanda Redman serves as the Special Events Coordinator and Yearbook Advisor for PCA. She also teaches our Photography and Communications classes. She loves the family atmosphere at PCA and the teachers’ willingness to pray for each other and lend a helping hand at the drop of a hat.

Mrs. Redman earned a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communications from Texas Tech University. She is married to Ed Redman and they have two sons, Brandon and Garrett. She attends University Church of Christ. She volunteers with the PCA Booster Club and Special Olympics.

Amy Hightower

Amy Hightower serves PCA as a First Grade Teacher. She most enjoys the family atmosphere at PCA.

Mrs. Hightower earned a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Auburn Montgomery. She is married to Charles Hightower and they have three children, Charles, Katelynn and Brandon. She attends Landmark Church of Christ.

Amy Newsom

Biography

Amy Newsom teaches Math, Science, Social Studies and Bible for Third grade. She loves that the leadership at PCA puts Christ at the forefront in every thing  that they do everyday.

Ms. Newsom received a B.S. in Elementary Education from Faulkner and a Master’s degree from Auburn Montgomery. She has two children Micah and Chase. They attend Hunter Hills Church where she served as the Children’s Minister for the last nine years.

Shannon Duncan

Shannon Duncan serves as a K3 teacher at PCA. She most enjoys the family atmosphere and is blessed to know that she is surrounded every day by caring and encouraging co-workers.

Mrs. Duncan served as a Substitute Teacher for Autauga County for eleven years and three years as a 21st CCLC Teacher (Century Community Learning Center) Afterschool Program.  She is married to Scott Duncan and they have four children,  Tyler, Cam, Tate & Savannah. She attends Liberty Baptist Church.

Charlotte Rouse

Biography

Charlotte Rouse serves as a K4 teacher at PCA. She enjoys working at PCA because the authority of God’s Word is honored and understood. She likes the opportunity of being able to weave God’s Word throughout the fabric of each day. She also feels that it is a joy to work with such a fine Christian staff as the PCA family.

Mrs. Rouse graduated with honors from Auburn Montgomery with a degree in Early Childhood Elementary and Reading Education. She is married to Wayne Rouse and they have two children, Michelle and Matthew and five grandchildren. She is a member of the Church of God and travels with her minister husband. She enjoys Bible teaching and working in women’s ministry.

Clay Boyd

Clay Boyd serves as a History teacher, Wrestling & Track and Field Coach. He enjoys all the great people that make up PCA.

Mr. Boyd received his Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education/History from Auburn Montgomery. He is married to another PCA staff member, Victoria Boyd. He attends Hunter Hills Church where he volunteers with the church nursery.

David Dean

David Dean teaches PCA’s Engineering courses along with Physics. He most enjoys the students.

Mr. Dean earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and holds PLTW certifications for all his engineering courses. He is married to another PCA staff member, Patricia Dean and they have two children, Colin and Zachary. He attends Frazer United Methodist Church.

Diane Shirah

Biography

Diane Shirah teaches Science and Language Arts for Fifth Grade. She loves the welcoming environment among the faculty, staff and students at PCA.

Mrs. Shirah received a Bachelor of Arts in English from Auburn University at Montgomery. In addition to her middle school certifications, she also holds a certification in Special Education, EC-12. She is married to Michael Shirah and they have two children Connor and Logan. They attend both St. Joseph Catholic Church and Journey Church.

Don Langley

Don Langley teaches United States History, Honors U.S. History and Government/Economics. He loves the welcoming, family environment at PCA.

Mr. Langley received a B.A. in Political Science and History from South Alabama. He received a M.A. in History from the University of Central Missouri. He is married to Lisa Langley and they have three sons Michael, Nathan and Matthew. They attend church at Eastern Hills Baptist Church in Montgomery where he assists in teaching an adult Bible Study class.

Ellen Nupson

Biography

Ellen Nupson teaches English for grades 6-7. She enjoys being a part of the family atmosphere and Christian education that students receive at PCA.

Mrs. Nupson graduated from Bob Jones University with a Master’s degree in English Education. She also holds certificates from ACSI and the State of Oklahoma. She is married to Scott Nupson and they have four children Kyle, Kelly, Kristen and Kari. She attends the chapel on Maxwell as well as Heritage Baptist church in Prattville. 

Emily-Anne McCaskey

Emily-Anne McCaskey serves PCA as a Kindergarten teacher. She most enjoys the Christian atmosphere at PCA.

Mrs. McCaskey received her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. She is married to Sam McCaskey and they have one son, Banks. She attends Aldersgate United Methodist Church where she volunteers as a young adult group coordinator, VBS leader and Reality and Truth volunteer.

Emily Barnes serves PCA as the Spanish I-III teacher. She loves the relationships among the administration, faculty, staff and students. She also enjoys the willingness to help and the positive attitudes of everyone.

Hannah Bradford serves PCA as the High School English teacher and AP Literature and Composition. She loves the authentic dedication to providing the best for PCA students.

Mrs. Bradford received her Bachelor of Arts in English from Auburn University. She is married to Joe Bradford and they attend Landmark Church of Christ. She enjoys volunteering with Common Ground Montgomery.

James Shirley

Biography

James Shirley teaches Pre Calculus, Algebra II and Geometry. He enjoys working in the Christian environment and with the excellent staff at PCA.

Mr. Shirley received a B.S. in Physical Science from Auburn University Montgomery. He is married to Loren Shirley and they attend Morningview Baptist Church where he serves as a deacon and teaches a children’s Sunday School class.

Jason Roberson

Jason Roberson teaches bible and serves as the head coach for Varsity Girls and Boys Basketball as well as the administrator for PCA’s soccer program. He enjoys the people and strong Christian atmosphere.

Mr. Roberson received a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Faulkner University. He is married to Lori Roberson and they have three children, Malia, Carson and Brady. He attends Centerpoint Fellowship Church and volunteers as a soccer coach for the City of Prattville.

Jeannie Kirkus serves PCA as a fifth grade teacher. She most enjoys that she is able to work in an environment where I am surrounded by encouraging and uplifting people that truly love God and other people.

Mrs. Kirkus received her Bachelor’s Degree in Childhood Education from Auburn University. She is married to Asa Kirkus and they attend Church of the Highlands.

Jeffery Bergdolt teaches High School Science. He loves that he gets to help students reach both their academic and spiritual potential while teaching at PCA.

Mr.Bergdolt received a B.S. in Biology and a M.S. in Logistics Management. He is, also, a registered Radiologic Technologist. He is married to Jan Bergdolt and they have three children Charlie, Abbie and John David. They attend First Baptist Church in Prattville where he volunteers with the high school youth group.

Jenny Minor

Biography

Jenny Minor serves as a Middle School Math Teacher and the Junior Varsity Volleyball Coach. She loves the Christ-centered education and family atmosphere at PCA.

Mrs. Minor received a Bachelor’s Degree in French from Valparaiso University and a Master’s Degree in Education from AIU. She is married to Kevin Minor and they have two daughters. She attends Saint Paul Lutheran Church and enjoys volunteering at church and with the ASCS Spouses and Officers Spouses Clubs at Maxwell Air Force Base.

Jerry Greene teaches High School English and History. He also serves as the head Baseball coach. He loves the unity among leaders, staff and faculty at PCA directed to the spiritual growth of the students. Coach Greene is married to Monica and they have one daughter Peri, who is a senior at PCA.

Kaylon Cantrell serves PCA as a Junior High School math teacher and the Head Volleyball Coach. She loves the Christian atmosphere and the sense of family among co-workers. “When I’m at school, whether teaching or coaching, I don’t feel like I’m at work because I love what I do, and enjoy the people that are here with me.”

Miss Cantrell received her Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics Education from Faulkner University. She attends Centerpoint Fellowship Church and enjoys coaching volleyball clinics and camps at the YMCA.

Ken Lantz

Ken Lantz serves as the Director of the High School Band, Beginner Band, High School Choir, Middle School Choir, and teaches Music Appreciation for PCA. in addition to his classroom duties, he also serves as the Cross Country coach. He most enjoys being a part of a school that daily puts God first; he feels honored to work alongside committed Christian teachers and administrators.

Mr. Lantz received his undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University. He is married to Renee Lantz and they have four children, Katherine, Connor, Natalie and Anna. He attends Centerpoint Fellowship Church where he serves on the Tech Team. He also serves the community as the Director of the Prattville Pops Community Band and is a member of the Millbrook Civitan Club.

Kimberly Simpson

Kimberly Simpson teaches Science in grades 8-12. Her classes include Integrated Science, Honors Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, AP Environmental Science and Science Olympiad. She most enjoys the family atmosphere at PCA.

Mrs. Simpson received an Bachelor and Master’s of Education from the University of North Alabama. She is married to Josh Simpson and they have three children, Marlee Grace, Makenna and Tillman. She attends Coosada Baptist Church.

LaTarial Williams is the Physical Education teacher and basketball and soccer coach for PCA. She enjoys that everyone is one family and has one goal – to teach our students to mature spiritually and encourage high academic standards.

Miss Williams received an Associate of Physical Education from Snead State Community College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management from Huntingdon College. She is a member of Landmark Church.

Linda Boren

Linda Boren serves PCA as a second grade teacher. She loves PCA because it is such a peaceful and happy place to work. “It is a blessing to teach in such a wonderful environment where we pray and learn about the Lord on a daily basis – not only are the academics outstanding but the environment in which the children are learning is outstanding too!”

Marcy Gore serves as a second grade teacher at PCA. What she loves most about PCA are the people! The entire faculty and staff at PCA are the most loving, caring, and supportive people I have ever met. I have the awesome privilege to come to work every day and receive an abundance of blessings and support so I can be the kind of teacher God wants me to be! PCA is not only a great school for our students, but a great place to work! I am thankful for and love my PCA family!

Mrs. Gore earned her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. She is married to Mike Gore and they have two daughters, Emily and Clara. She attends Journey Church.

Mayra Atchley is the Elementary and Middle School Spanish teacher. She enjoys the opportunity that God has given her to be able to share her culture with the students.

Mrs. Atchley, a native of Fajardo, Puerto Rico, is a certified ESOL Paraprofessional and received her degree from the University of Puerto Rico. She is married to David Atchely and they have two children, Alex and Arianna (Sissy). She attends Journey Church.

Michelle Stough

Michelle Stough serves as the Chemistry Teacher for PCA. She enjoys the Christian atmosphere.

Mrs. Stough graduated from Troy University with a degree in Secondary Comprehensive Science. She is married to another PCA faculty member, Randy Stough. They have two children, Trent and Madilyn and two grandsons, Logan and Baker. She attends Elmore Church of Christ and spends her free time devoted to A+ College Ready and Laying the Foundation where she trains teachers and conducts study sessions for students.

Monica Caporaso

Monica Caporaso serves as a Fourth Grade Teacher at PCA. She most enjoys that she leaves work each day closer to the Lord than when she arrived.

Ms. Caporaso earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Auburn Montgomery. She and her daughter Sydney Lee attend Centerpoint Fellowship Church where she enjoys volunteering her time teaching.

Nancy Rambo serves PCA as a Kindergarten Teacher. She loves the great Christian atmosphere with wonderful co-workers. She enjoys working with students and seeing the little light blubs turn on and being able to relate all that we do to God’s word.

Mrs. Rambo received her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Auburn University. She is retired from Montgomery Public Schools after 25 years of service. She is married to Steve Rambo and they have two adult children. She attends Vaughn Park Church of Christ.

Neal Parker
High School Teacher


Biography

Neal Parker serves PCA as a French II teacher. By far, he most enjoys the students.

Mr. Parker earned a Bachelor of Arts in French and a Bachelor of Science in Bible from Oklahoma Christian University, a Master of Arts in Religion in Greek New Testament from Harding Graduate School of Theology and additional hours to be certified in History from Black Hills State University. He is certified to teach French and History; he scored perfect scores on both the French and History PRAXIS tests.

He is married to Donna Parker and they have two adult children. Mr. Parker attends Prattville Church of Christ where he is privileged to serve as an elder.

Preston Judah

Preston Judah serves PCA as a History teacher. He enjoys working with all of the wonderful students that make up PCA.

Mr. Judah is a University of Alabama graduate with degrees in History and American Studies. He is married to Sara Judah and they attend Centerpoint Fellowship Church.

Randy Stough

Randy Stough teaches Driver’s Education, Heath and P.E. He is also the head Softball coach. Randy enjoys working with fellow Christians at PCA who are striving to make a spiritual influence in the lives of children.

Mr. Stough received a bachelor’s degree at Troy State University in K-12 P.E. and a certification in Driver’s Education at ASU. He is married to Michelle Stough, who also teaches at PCA. They have two children Trent and Madilyn, who teaches at PCA, and two grandchildren. He attends Elmore Church of Christ.

Robert Holt

Robert Holt teaches high school math at PCA and sponsors the Key Club. He likes the opportunity to teach in an environment that encourages children to grow both academically and spiritually.

Mr. Holt holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with an emphasis in Engineering from Auburn Montgomery. He is married to Kim Holt and they have two children, Bryan and Kendall. He attends Prattville Church of Christ.

Ron Kochik

Ron Kochik teaches ninth grade Bible and High School Health. He most enjoys the focus on serving God and helping our students become the Christ-like servants that God desires them to be for Him.

Mr. Kochik earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry. He is married to Sharon and they have two children Jeff and Jamie who now have families as well. He attends Perry Hill Road Church of Christ and volunteers with Hope Inspired Ministries.

Sheri Sessions serves PCA as an Art Teacher. She currently serves students in grades 4-12. She loves the camaraderie of coworkers that work toward one common goal.

Mrs. Sessions earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Judson College. She is married another PCA staff member, Steven Session. They have two children, Rachael and Thomas. She attends Pintlala Baptist Church.

Stacey Clem

Stacey Clem teaches High School English, American Lit and AP Language and Composition. Her favorite thing about PCA is the family atmosphere. She is excited about sharing her passion for analyzing literature and language from a biblical worldview.

Mrs. Clem received her Bachelor of Science in English and a Master of Science in English Education from Troy University. She also has a Foundation and Frameworks certification. She is married to Ted Clem and they have three children, Annalise, Alaina and Andrew. Mrs. Clem attends Journey Church where she serves on the worship team and as a life group leader at church. Her family enjoys taking mission trips as well.

Steven Sessions teaches Elementary and Middle School music as well as serves as the PCA Choir Director. He most enjoys that PCA puts God first and students are encouraged to grow as leaders who serve sacrificially as Christ did for us.

Mr. Sessions received his Bachelor of Arts in Music from Huntingdon College. He is married to Sheri Sessions and they have two children, Rachael and Thomas. They attend Pintlala Baptist Church where he volunteers with the church’s community service program.

Theresa May serves as one of PCA’s Fourth Grade Teachers.

Mrs. May earned an Early Childhood Education degree from Auburn Montgomery. She is married to Paul May and they have three children; Walker, Wyatt and Mary Sutton. They attend Hunter Hills Church.

Tori Blackburn teaches Middle School Social Studies and is a graduate of PCA. She enjoys working in the supportive family environment every day at PCA.

Trent Staggs
High School Teacher


Biography

Trent Staggs serves PCA as a High School Bible, Personal Finance and PE teacher. He also leads the wrestling program and is an Assistant Football Coach. He most enjoys the ability to teach, coach and work in such a Christian environment that takes in account the whole student, parent and educator that comes through the doors of PCA.

Mr. Staggs earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Education from University of Southern Indiana and a Master of Science in Athletic Administration from Ohio University. He is a Registered Athletic Administrator through the National Interscholastic Athletic Administration Association. He is married to Melissa Staggs and they have two sons. He and his family attend Safe Harbor Church.

Victoria Boyd

Victoria Boyd serves as an English Teacher for grades 8-9, Speech & Debate, and Communication Life Skills Teacher. She enjoys working with Christians that are positive and supportive. Her passion is in fulfilling her role in the students lives and helping them discover their gifts for God’s Kingdom.

Mrs. Boyd received her Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary English Education from Auburn Montgomery. She is married to Clay Boyd and they have three dogs. She attends Hunter Hills Church and volunteers with the Homeless Coalition’s Resource Fair and River Region Connects.

Wade Brackins

Wade Brackins serves PCA as a Middle School English Teacher and Junior High School Football Coach. He most enjoys drawing kids to and building them up in God’s grace.

Mr. Brackins earned a Bachelor of Science in English and Math from Troy State and a Master’s of Science in Education Administration from Florida State. He is married to another PCA staff member, Janet Brackins, and they have four children, Andrew, Rachel, Nathan and Lydia. He attends Journey Church.

Whitney Sheridan

Whitney Sheridan teaches Language Arts and Bible in Third Grade. She loves the family atmosphere at PCA.

Mrs. Sheridan received her degree in Elementary Education from Troy University. She has a Model and Master Classroom from the AR program and is also AMSTI certified for Math and Science in grades 3-4. She is married to Cass Sheridan and they have one daughter. They attend First Baptist of Prattville where she teaches Sunday school class. She is also  a member of the Prattville Service League which gives her the opportunity to participate in various service related activities around the community.
