The success of Prattville Christian Academy and its students is a direct result of our exceptional talented faculty and staff members. These individuals pour knowledge, life skills and Christ into the student body each day. We are fortunate to call each faculty and staff member a part of the PCA family.

In addition to their daily teaching schedules, many of our teachers are also athletic coaches, club sponsors, and leaders in their respective field.

Alison Deason
Elementary School Teacher


Biography

Alison Deason teaches Math, and History for Fifth grade. She loves working at PCA because it feels like a great big family. Everyone takes care of each other and God’s word is incorporated into everything.

Mrs. Deason received her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood/Elementary Education from the University of Montevallo and a Master’s in Elementary Education from the University of West Alabama. She is married to Mark and they have three sons, Reid, Parker and Trevor. She attends Coosada Baptist Church.

Amanda Redman
High School Teacher


Biography

Amanda Redman serves as the Special Events Coordinator and Yearbook Advisor for PCA. She also teaches our Photography and Communications classes. She loves the family atmosphere at PCA and the teachers’ willingness to pray for each other and lend a helping hand at the drop of a hat.

Mrs. Redman earned a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communications from Texas Tech University. She is married to Ed Redman and they have two sons, Brandon and Garrett. She attends University Church of Christ. She volunteers with the PCA Booster Club and Special Olympics.

Amy Hightower

Amy Hightower serves PCA as a First Grade Teacher. She most enjoys the family atmosphere at PCA.

Mrs. Hightower earned a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Auburn Montgomery. She is married to Charles Hightower and they have three children, Charles, Katelynn and Brandon. She attends Landmark Church of Christ.

Amy Newsom

Amy Newsom teaches Math, Science, Social Studies and Bible for Third grade. She loves that the leadership at PCA puts Christ at the forefront in every thing  that they do everyday.

Ms. Newsom received a B.S. in Elementary Education from Faulkner and a Master’s degree from Auburn Montgomery. She has two children Micah and Chase. They attend Hunter Hills Church where she served as the Children’s Minister for the last nine years.

Angela Bryant

Angela Bryant teaches Fifth Grade Science and History. She enjoys PCA because of the extended family atmosphere.

Mrs. Bryant earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Ohio University. She is married to David and they have one daughter, Lindsay. She attends The Holy Spirit Church in Montgomery and volunteers wth the Montgomery Zoo.

Shannon Duncan

Biography

Shannon Duncan serves as a K3 teacher at PCA. She most enjoys the family atmosphere and is blessed to know that she is surrounded every day by caring and encouraging co-workers.

Mrs. Duncan served as a Substitute Teacher for Autauga County for eleven years and three years as a 21st CCLC Teacher (Century Community Learning Center) Afterschool Program.  She is married to Scott Duncan and they have four children,  Tyler, Cam, Tate & Savannah. She attends Liberty Baptist Church.

Charlotte Rouse

Biography

Charlotte Rouse serves as a K4 teacher at PCA. She enjoys working at PCA because the authority of God’s Word is honored and understood. She likes the opportunity of being able to weave God’s Word throughout the fabric of each day. She also feels that it is a joy to work with such a fine Christian staff as the PCA family.

Mrs. Rouse graduated with honors from Auburn Montgomery with a degree in Early Childhood Elementary and Reading Education. She is married to Wayne Rouse and they have two children, Michelle and Matthew and five grandchildren. She is a member of the Church of God and travels with her minister husband. She enjoys Bible teaching and working in women’s ministry.

Clay Boyd
High School Teacher


Biography

Clay Boyd serves as a History teacher, Wrestling & Track and Field Coach. He enjoys all the great people that make up PCA.

Mr. Boyd received his Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education/History from Auburn Montgomery. He is married to another PCA staff member, Victoria Boyd. He attends Hunter Hills Church where he volunteers with the church nursery.

David Dean
High School Teacher


Biography

David Dean teaches all courses in PCA’s Engineering Academy. He most enjoys the students.

Mr. Dean earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and holds PLTW certifications for all his engineering courses. He is married to another PCA staff member, Patricia Dean and they have two children, Colin and Zachary. He attends Frazer United Methodist Church.

Diane Shirah

Diane Shirah teaches Science and Language Arts for Fifth Grade. She loves the welcoming environment among the faculty, staff and students at PCA.

Mrs. Shirah received a Bachelor of Arts in English from Auburn University at Montgomery. In addition to her middle school certifications, she also holds a certification in Special Education, EC-12. She is married to Michael Shirah and they have two children Connor and Logan. They attend both St. Joseph Catholic Church and Journey Church.

Ellen Nupson
High School Teacher


Biography

Ellen Nupson teaches 10th grade English. She enjoys the family atmosphere of PCA and appreciates the opportunity to grow and share her faith in a Christ-centered Christian school.

Mrs. Nupson graduated from Bob Jones University with a Master’s degree in English Education. She also holds certificates from ACSI and the State of Oklahoma. She is married to Scott Nupson and they have four children Kyle, Kelly, Kristen and Kari. She attends the chapel on Maxwell as well as Heritage Baptist church in Prattville. She volunteers with family ministries and Bible studies at Maxwell chapel where her husband serves as chaplain.

Emily-Anne McCaskey serves PCA as a Kindergarten teacher. She most enjoys the Christian atmosphere at PCA.

Mrs. McCaskey received her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. She is married to Sam McCaskey and they two children: Banks and Tyler-Anne. She attends Aldersgate United Methodist Church where she volunteers as a young adult group coordinator, VBS leader and Reality and Truth volunteer.

Emily Barnes

Emily Barnes serves PCA as the Spanish I-III teacher. She loves the relationships among the administration, faculty, staff and students. She also enjoys the willingness to help and the positive attitudes of everyone.

Mrs. Barnes received her Bachelor of Arts with a teaching certificate from Auburn University. She is married to Ben Barnes and they have two children, Shelley and Andy. She attends Shoal Creek Baptist Church where she is involved with the orchestra.

Erin Bowman

Erin Bowman teaches Middle School, Junior High and High School Bible. She loves the administration and their dedication to serving the Lord and how everyone is always so willing to help.  She also loves the students’ authenticity and motivation to do well in all areas of their lives!

Mrs. Bowman received her Bachelor of Arts in English and Spanish and a Master’s in Education from Harding University. She is married to Randy Bowman and they have four children who attend PCA: Mihaela, Noah, Lannom and Jorja. They attend Centerpoint Church. Mrs. Bowman also volunteers with the Autauga Interfaith Care Center.

Erin Copeland

Erin Copeland serves as a K4 teacher. She loves working with her sincere and loving co-workers at PCA.

Mrs. Copeland received a BA and M.ED. from Harding University. She is married to Nathan Copeland and they have four children: Kate, Colin, William and Grant. She attends Hunter Hills Church of Christ.

Jacob Guillory

Jacob Guillory teaches Junior High World History. He also coaches football and golf. He enjoys the student-centered discussion based instruction that connects history with everyday life and the opportunity to coach and teach in a christian environment.

Coach Guillory received a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education from Troy University.

James Shirley
High School Teacher


Biography

James Shirley teaches Physics, Precalculus, and Algebra II. He enjoys working in the Christian environment and with the excellent staff at PCA.

Mr. Shirley received a B.S. in Physical Science from Auburn University Montgomery. He is married to Loren Shirley and they attend Morningview Baptist Church where he serves as a deacon and teaches a children’s Sunday School class.

Jason Furr

Jason Furr serves as a Junior High Bible and Personal Finance Teacher as well as the Assistant Wrestling Coach. He most enjoys the family atmosphere at PCA.

Coach Furr received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Troy University and a Liberty University Graduate Certificate in Biblical Studies. He is married to Katie Furr and they have one daughter, Shelby. They attend Landmark Church where he serves with the men’s ministry, security team and as the Deacon of Serving Others Ministry.

Jason Roberson teaches bible and serves as the head coach for Varsity Girls and Boys Basketball as well as the administrator for PCA’s soccer program. He enjoys the people and strong Christian atmosphere.

Mr. Roberson received a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Faulkner University. He is married to Lori Roberson and they have three children, Malia, Carson and Brady. He attends Centerpoint Fellowship Church and volunteers as a soccer coach for the City of Prattville.

Jeffery Bergdolt

Biography

Jeffery Bergdolt teaches High School Science. He loves that he gets to help students reach both their academic and spiritual potential while teaching at PCA.

Mr.Bergdolt received a B.S. in Biology and a M.S. in Logistics Management. He is also a registered Radiologic Technologist. He is married to Jan Bergdolt and they have three children Charlie, Abbie and John David. They attend First Baptist Church in Prattville.

Kaylon Cantrell serves PCA as a Junior High School math teacher and the Head Volleyball Coach. She loves the Christian atmosphere and the sense of family among co-workers. “When I’m at school, whether teaching or coaching, I don’t feel like I’m at work because I love what I do, and enjoy the people that are here with me.”

Miss Cantrell received her Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics Education from Faulkner University. She attends Centerpoint Fellowship Church and enjoys coaching volleyball clinics and camps at the YMCA.

Ken Lantz

Ken Lantz serves as the Director of the High School Band, Beginner Band, High School Choir, Middle School Choir, and teaches Music Appreciation for PCA. in addition to his classroom duties, he also serves as the Cross Country coach. He most enjoys being a part of a school that daily puts God first; he feels honored to work alongside committed Christian teachers and administrators.

Mr. Lantz received his undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University. He is married to Renee Lantz and they have four children, Katherine, Connor, Natalie and Anna. He attends Centerpoint Fellowship Church where he serves on the Tech Team. He also serves the community as the Director of the Prattville Pops Community Band and is a member of the Millbrook Civitan Club.

Biography

Kimberly Simpson teaches Science in grades 8-12. Her classes include Integrated Science, Honors Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, AP Environmental Science and Science Olympiad. She most enjoys the family atmosphere at PCA.

Mrs. Simpson received an Bachelor and Master’s of Education from the University of North Alabama. She is married to Josh Simpson and they have three children, Marlee Grace, Makenna and Tillman. She attends Coosada Baptist Church.

Linda Boren

Linda Boren serves PCA as a second grade teacher. She loves PCA because it is such a peaceful and happy place to work. “It is a blessing to teach in such a wonderful environment where we pray and learn about the Lord on a daily basis – not only are the academics outstanding but the environment in which the children are learning is outstanding too!”

Mrs. Boren received her undergraduate and master’s degree from UAB and an EDS from the University of Montevallo. She is married to Charlie Boren and they have three children and four grandchildren. She attends Perry Hill Church of Christ.

Marcy Gore serves as a second grade teacher at PCA. What she loves most about PCA are the people! The entire faculty and staff at PCA are the most loving, caring, and supportive people I have ever met. I have the awesome privilege to come to work every day and receive an abundance of blessings and support so I can be the kind of teacher God wants me to be! PCA is not only a great school for our students, but a great place to work! I am thankful for and love my PCA family!

Mrs. Gore earned her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. She is married to Mike Gore and they have two daughters, Emily and Clara. She attends Journey Church.

Marsha Blankinchip serves as a first grade teacher at PCA. She most enjoys how PCA is intentional about teaching students how to have a servant’s heart and giving God all the glory while serving others.

Mary Virginia Harper teaches High School Math, coaches volleyball and tennis as well as serves as an ACT/SAT tutor. She loves the positive, supportive atmosphere, and enjoys the way students and staff care for each other.

Miss Harper earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Vanderbilt University with a major in Medicine, Health, and Society.  She attends First Baptist Church Prattville.

Maryceleste Bell teaches Sixth Grade Earth Science and Seventh Grade Civics. She really enjoys how helpful and friendly everyone is; how very willing to take time out of their day to make sure that they can help you in some way.

Miss Bell earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and is pursuing a Masters in Secondary Education from Faulkner University. She is engaged to Mike Mendoza and they attend Landmark Church.

Mayra Atchley is the Elementary and Middle School Spanish teacher. She enjoys the opportunity that God has given her to be able to share her culture with the students.

Mrs. Atchley, a native of Fajardo, Puerto Rico, is a certified ESOL Paraprofessional and received her degree from the University of Puerto Rico. She is married to David Atchely and they have two children, Alex and Arianna (Sissy). She attends Journey Church.

Michelle Stough serves as the Chemistry Teacher for PCA. She enjoys the Christian atmosphere.

Mrs. Stough graduated from Troy University with a degree in Secondary Comprehensive Science. She is married to another PCA faculty member, Randy Stough. They have two children, Trent and Madilyn and two grandsons, Logan and Baker. She attends Elmore Church of Christ and spends her free time devoted to A+ College Ready and Laying the Foundation where she trains teachers and conducts study sessions for students.

Monica Caporaso serves as a Fourth Grade Teacher at PCA. She most enjoys that she leaves work each day closer to the Lord than when she arrived.

Mrs. Rambo received her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Auburn University. She is retired from Montgomery Public Schools after 25 years of service. She is married to Steve Rambo and they have two adult children. She attends Vaughn Park Church of Christ.

Randy Stough teaches Driver’s Education, Heath and P.E. He is also the head Softball coach. Randy enjoys working with fellow Christians at PCA who are striving to make a spiritual influence in the lives of children.

Mr. Stough received a bachelor’s degree at Troy State University in K-12 P.E. and a certification in Driver’s Education at ASU. He is married to Michelle Stough, who also teaches at PCA. Robert Holt

Robert Holt teaches high school math at PCA and sponsors the Key Club. He likes the opportunity to teach in an environment that encourages children to grow both academically and spiritually.

Mr. Holt holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with an emphasis in Engineering from Auburn Montgomery. He is married to Kim Holt and they have two children, Bryan and Kendall. He attends Prattville Church of Christ.

Savannah Dockins

Savannah Dockins teaches Middle School English. She loves the family and Christian atmosphere at PCA. She feels at home and is able to openly glorify God while incorporating His presence through teaching.

Stacey Clem
High School Teacher


Biography

Stacey Clem teaches High School English, American Lit and AP Language and Composition. Her favorite thing about PCA is the family atmosphere. She is excited about sharing her passion for analyzing literature and language from a biblical worldview.

Mrs. Clem received her Bachelor of Science in English and a Master of Science in English Education from Troy University. She also has a Foundation and Frameworks certification. She is married to Ted Clem and they have three children, Annalise, Alaina and Andrew. Mrs. Clem attends Journey Church where she serves on the worship team and as a life group leader at church. Her family enjoys taking mission trips as well.

Tori Blackburn teaches Middle School Social Studies and is a graduate of PCA. She enjoys working in the supportive family environment every day at PCA.

Trent Staggs

Trent Staggs serves PCA as a High School Bible, Personal Finance and PE teacher. He also leads the wrestling program and is an Assistant Football Coach. He most enjoys the ability to teach, coach and work in such a Christian environment that takes in account the whole student, parent and educator that comes through the doors of PCA.

Mr. Staggs earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Education from University of Southern Indiana and a Master of Science in Athletic Administration from Ohio University. He is a Registered Athletic Administrator through the National Interscholastic Athletic Administration Association. He is married to Melissa Staggs and they have two sons. He and his family attend Safe Harbor Church.

Victoria Boyd

Victoria Boyd serves as an English Teacher for grades 8-9, Speech & Debate, and Communication Life Skills Teacher. She enjoys working with Christians that are positive and supportive. Her passion is in fulfilling her role in the students lives and helping them discover their gifts for God’s Kingdom.

Mrs. Boyd received her Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary English Education from Auburn Montgomery. She is married to Clay Boyd and they have three dogs. She attends Hunter Hills Church and volunteers with the Homeless Coalition’s Resource Fair and River Region Connects.
