The instrumental music program at Prattville Christian Academy offers our students a multi-faceted range of experiences. From private lessons to performance, PCA students are instructed in all aspects of instrumental music.

Beginning Band: Grades 6-8
This course is designed to teach and develop the fundamentals of playing a band instrument. Instruments that are taught, including flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, french horn, trombone, baritone (tuba), and percussion. Instruction is provided by instrument section and curriculum content includes note reading, fingering, and expression markings for the selected instrument. The focus of this class is performance, and all of the curriculum content areas are taught through the repertoire music.

Advanced Band: Grades 7-12
This course is designed to develop the instrumental music literacy and instrumental music skills of each student. Band is a performance class and students are required to participate in all performances. Major performing ensembles may include concert, marching, and pep bands as well as small ensembles. Students may be assigned to performance groups fitting their needs through audition and the discretion of the band director. Majorettes and Color Guard are additional aspects of the high school band.

Band class is mandatory and requires continuous year-long participation. The prerequisite for this class is to pass performance requirements at the seventh grade level.
