Students of all ages are encouraged to stay active and engaged with the many sports and enrichment camps happening this summer! The grade level listed for each camp is the grade the student will be entering in the 2019-2020 school year. For more information about a particular camp or to sign up your student(s), please contact the offering faculty member. All camp fees are payable to the faculty member unless otherwise noted; not PCA.

SPORTS CAMPS

Football Camp
Grades K-6 | $25
May 18 from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.

The program will focus on agility, position drills, techniques, fundamentals, and feature a friendly competition of flag football. Campers are provided a shirt and lunch. PCA students and friends are encouraged to attend. Register here

Basketball Camp

Grades K-7 | $75
July 15-18 from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.

The program will review shooting and rebounding techniques, ball handling skills, passing and receiving, live ball moves & defensive techniques. Camp will also include snacks, daily devotional and lowered goals for younger campers. PCA students and friends are encouraged to attend. Register here.

Baseball Camp
Grade K-5 | $75
June 17-20  from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

The program will focus on game fundamentals like hitting, throwing, catching, base running, and sliding. Participants will need baseball pants, shirt, tennis shoes, hat, and a bat (if available).  Register here

Volleyball Camp
Grades 2-6 | $60
June 12-14 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Camp instruction will include drills on volleyball fundamentals, including passing, setting, serving and hitting.  Campers will also participate in competitive 3 on 3 and 6 on 6 matches. PCA students and friends are encouraged to attend. Register here.

Pee Wee Cheer Camp

Twirling Camp
Grades 2-12 | $70
June 24-28 from 8 – 10 a.m. (grades 2-5)
June 24-28 from 10 a.m.- 12 p.m. (grades 6-12)

The program is designed to teach baton tricks and dance steps to all skill levels – from beginner to advanced. A routine will be performed for parents on the last day of camp. Each participant must bring their own baton. No experience necessary. Camp will be held at Hunter Hills Church. Register here.

Running Camp
Grades 6-12 | $75
July 1, 3, 5 from 6 – 8 a.m.

The program is designed to teach techniques that will improve endurance, movement, balance, breathing, hydration, diet, confidence, and agility. Proper biomechanics and techniques related to distance running will be covered. No distance running experience necessary. Students must bring shoes designed and used only for running. Small training groups will be formed according to age and ability. Register here.

Color Guard Camp
Grades: 6-12 | $75
July 9-11 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

This program is designed to teach the fundamentals and tricks of spinning a flag at all skill levels. Participants will learn basic flag spins and tosses. Participants will need to wear athletic clothes, closed-toe shoes, and have hair pulled back. Register here.

ENRICHMENT CAMPS

Preschool Enrichment Camp
Grades K4 and K5 | $120/month
Wednesdays from June 5 – July 24 from 7:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

This program is designed to actively instruct and reinforce academic, fine and gross motor skills. Campers will focus on recognition of letters and numbers, phonemic awareness, counting and beginning writing in a fun active environment. A snack will be provided. Register here. Crayons on Campus
Grades 3-5 | $75

Campers will enjoy an art-rageous week of creating while implementing both traditional and contemporary techniques. Participants will also learn various visual art foundational concepts and create tangible art pieces. Register here.

ACT Prep Course
Grades 10-12 | $50/day
July 8-11 from 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

This program is designed to improve ACT test scores by teaching standardized test-taking skills in English, Math, Science, and Reading. This class is designed to prepared students taking the ACT on campus on July 13. Students may register for the area(s) of need. Classes will be held in room 202 of PCA’s Upper School Building. Music Makers Camp
Grades 4-12 | $100
May or June (four lessons to be individually scheduled)

The program includes four, one-hour music lessons on any typical band instrument or beginning guitar, beginning piano drum set, or voice. Lessons will incorporate music theory, music history, and music technology. Students should provide their own instruments, except for the piano and drum set. Register here.

Mad Science Camp
Grades 3-5 | $60
July 9-11  from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

It’s time for the seventh annual Mad Science Camp! This is a fun hands-on mind-on camp that will further students’ understanding of the scientific method using experiments and STEM labs on a variety of topics including physical, life, and earth sciences. Middle School Challenge
Grades 6-7 | $60
July 16-17 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

The Middle School Challenge camp is a fast-paced, interactive camp that incorporates Summer Reading & Math as well as fun science facts by working in groups to complete challenges and solve problems. Students will need a smartphone and must have completed Summer Reading & Math assignments prior to attending camp. Challenges will be indoor and outdoor, so students may bring a water bottle. Rethinking Fairy Tales
Grades 6-7 | $50
June 18, 20 from 1:00-3:30 p.m.

A creative writing camp focused on putting a spin on traditional fairy tales by thinking outside the box and promoting a positive writing atmosphere! Students should bring their favorite childhood, a fabulous pen and notebook, and lots of energy. Register here.

Middle School Writing
Grades 6-7 | $75
July 16, 18  from 1:00-3:30 p.m.

Not a great writer? You can change that by joining this academic writing camp. Boost your confidence with improved writing skills. Students must be willing to draft and redraft and promote a positive writing environment. This camp focuses on differentiating formal and informal language in writing, writing a strong sentence, and developing a coherent paragraph. Space is limited. Register here.
