Important Back-to-School Information

Hello! On behalf of Prattville Christian Academy, we would like to welcome all new families and returning PCA families to the one place where all information and updates pertaining to the 2018-19 school year are located.

Summer Reading and Math Assignments
In an effort to keep your student’s reading and math skills sharp, we are again requiring participation in the summer reading and math program. Students in grades K3 through 2 will receive prizes for participation, while participation is mandatory for students in grades 3 through 12.

Orientation Dates
A mandatory parent meeting for students in K3-K5 will be held on August 2 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. in the student’s classroom. Optional parent/teacher meetings for grades 1-5 will also be held in student’s classroom. We request no children attend these meetings.

PCA’s Orientation is scheduled for August 6 from 5:30 – 7 p.m. It will begin with a few grade specific meetings and will be followed by room tours which are optional but highly recommended.

Incoming sixth grade and new seventh grade parents only!

High School Meeting with Mrs. Furr – Grades 8-12
5:30 – 5:45 p.m.

All meetings will be followed by room tours until 7:00 p.m.

Student Information Packets
Updating student information will be completed digitally this year! On July 10, all returning families received an email providing instructions on how to sign on to your existing RenWeb account and access these forms. If you didn’t receive an email, you can access student information packages by signing into your RenWeb account. Once there, go to the “family information” tab, select “enrollment/re-enrollment” and complete the package for each student.

New Family Reception
Mark your calendars! All new PCA families will be invited to our annual New Family Reception on August 16 at 7:15 a.m. in the PCA’s Tanglewood Coffee House. This come-and-go, informal event will give you an opportunity to meet many of PCA’s board members and administrators as well as connect with other new and established families.

Uniform Sales
AKD is the exclusive provider of PCA uniforms. All uniform pieces, including tops, bottoms, and outerwear must be a valid AKD brand. As you begin shopping for the new year, we encourage you to familiarize yourself with the updates to the uniform section of the handbook by clicking here.

Supply Lists
All elementary supplies are furnished by PCA. Backpacks are also provided through third grade. The middle school supply list is available here. The junior high and high school supply list is available by clicking here.

Student I.D. Cards, Locker Assignments, and Car Registration
Student I.D. cards are required for all students in grades 6-12 and must be renewed each school year. Get your card August 1-3 from 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (closed for lunch from 11:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.)

High school locker assignments will also be available for pick up at the front desk of the secondary building following the same schedule above. Middle school locker assignments will be available on orientation night.

All students who drive will need to register their vehicle at the front desk of the secondary building as well. Please note! Senior parking is located in the lot on the left side of the secondary building and all other student parking is located in the lot to the right of the elementary building.

Student Devices
Returning students in grades 6-12 are required to have a signed Acceptable Use Policy/Assumption of Device Responsibility Contract and approved case on the first day of school. New students will receive their devices on the first day of school. Required contracts and additional device information may be found by clicking here.

Renweb Accounts
RenWeb School Management software, PCA’s communication tool, gives parents the opportunity to be more involved in student’s academic progress and future successes via an easy-to-use software program. It allows you to view grades, attendance, homework assignments and other useful information. You may also communicate with teachers and other school staff through this system, as necessary.

PCA Volunteers
We are seeking parent and grandparent volunteers to help with various projects and activities on and around campus during the year! When you agree to be included in our volunteer program, the only thing that you are committing to is receiving an email when a volunteer opportunity arises. Once you receive an email, you may simply reply yes or no depending on your availability and the skills necessary to complete the task.

Class Schedules
All middle school, junior high and high school students will follow a modified block schedule. The master schedule is available here.

Mark your calendars! A welcome party for new middle school students will be held on July 25 at 12:00 p.m. This event is designed for new students only (no parents) to meet classmates and teachers.

A new student luau, for students in grades 8-12, will be held on July 26 from 5:30-8:00 p.m. in the PCA Gym and Cafeteria. This event is designed for new students only (no parents) to meet classmates and teachers.
