Graeson Scott Named National Merit Scholarship Program Commended Student
Prattville Christian Academy principal Katie Furr announced that Graeson Scott ’17 was named a Commended Student in the 2017 National Merit Scholarship Program (NMSP). The National Merit Scholarship Program is an academic scholarship competition for recognition and scholarships administered by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, a privately funded, not-for-profit organization.
Nearly 34,000 students nationwide are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. NMSP Commended Students rank among the top five percent of the more than 1.6 million students who entered the 2017 competition by taking the 2015 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
“The young men and women being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success,” commented a spokesperson for NMSC. “These students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation. We hope that this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success.”
“Graeson is an exceptionally bright student who excels in math and science,” said Katie Furr, PCA principal. “We are proud of him and look forward to seeing what his future holds.”
Congratulations, Graeson!
